Olympian Eloise Wellings joins Blackmores Sydney Running Festival Broadcast Team

Live broadcast on Network Ten, 7.00am – 10:00am 16 September 2018


Two-time Olympian and Athletics Australia ambassador, Eloise Wellings, will join the world-renowned commentary team comprising of Olympic legend and former World Record holder, Steve Ovett, Australian Olympian Steve Moneghetti and sports commentator Ian Cohen for the Blackmores Sydney Marathon.

The world-class commentary team will bring all the race day action to life as some of the world’s top athletes from Uganda, USA, Ethiopia, Morocco, Kenya and Australia battle it out to become the champion of Australia’s most spectacular marathon – the Blackmores Sydney Marathon.

The course for Blackmores Sydney Marathon offers a stunning backdrop as the athletes take in the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour, The Rocks and finishing at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

The broadcast will air on Network Ten and internationally on Eurosport Asia and free to air television in Japan.

Behind the elite competitors, everyday runners will also take part in the 42.2km challenge; some raising money for charity whilst many others will be taking part in the event for the personal satisfaction of completing a marathon.

There are three other stunning events to choose from in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival meaning runners can simply select the challenge that’s right for them. Each event offers the unique opportunity to cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge traffic free and take in Sydney’s spectacular sights.

Events include:

  • Blackmores Family Fun Run/Walk (approx 3.5km)
  • Blackmores Bridge Run (10km)
  • Blackmores Half Marathon (21.1km)
  • Blackmores Sydney Marathon (42.2km)

The Blackmores Sydney Marathon, Blackmores Half Marathon and the Blackmores Bridge Run (10km) finish at the Sydney Opera House. The Blackmores Family Fun Run finishes at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Post-event all participants are invited to celebrate their achievements in the Blackmores Recovery Village located in the Royal Botanic Gardens whilst enjoying the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour.
