Event Changes and Withdrawals

Can I change events?

We understand that sometimes injury or illness may interrupt your training and ability to run in your chosen event on the day. For this reason, you can change between events by completing a change of event form as long as that event is not sold out.

To change events during event week (anytime after 9th September 2018 at 5 pm), please complete the Change of Event form and visit the ASICS Event Expo 'Changes Desk'. 

No changes will be made unless you bring your original race bib to the 'Event Changes' desk with the required form.

Please note: A $5 administration applies to any event changes. Race changes are subject to availability as particular start groups and events will sell out prior to Sunday 16 September 2018. 

Any upgrades to the Sydney Marathon after Tuesday 31 July 2018 at 5pm will not receive a personalised race bib.

Can I transfer my entry or obtain a refund?

Entry fees are non-refundable for non-starters and non-finishers as per the event's terms and conditions agreed to at the time of registration. We do not allow transfers of entry (to another person).

75% of entry fees are refundable prior to 31 July 2018.

After 31 July 2018 we do not offer refunds, but allow you to instead defer your entry until 2019. Deferred will only be processed if you email the withdrawal form by Friday, 7 September 2018 or in-person at the ASICS Event Expo by Saturday, 15 September at 4 pm. Deferral processed during event week incurs a $5 admin fee.

This means you will be provided with a promo code to waive your fee for 2019 only. A credit note will be given for the next consecutive year only. Any unused deferred credit notes will not be refunded and cannot be transferred to the following year or to another person. Deferred entrants must enter before the early bird period, which is 31 July 2019.
