Travel & Parking

 Road Closures?
The entire route for all four events will be closed to traffic. Visit www.rta.nsw.gov.au for further road closure information.

Where is the start and finish areas?
The start area will be at Bradfield Park Milsons Point - under the northern end of the bridge and adjacent to Milsons Point train station, the finish area will be the Sydney Opera House forecourts and the Recovery Village will be in the Royal Botanic Gardens - approximately 400 metres from the forecourt steps.

How do I get to the start area?
It's advised that you plan how you will be travelling to the start area on event day in advance. Parking will be limited. So it's best to get dropped off or use public transport.  Milson's Point train station is just a few steps away.  If you are going to use public transport to get to the start area, you should make enquiries regarding early morning bus or train services by contacting the Transport Info-line on 131 500 (24 hours).

What is at the start area?
We have doubled the number of portable toilets at the start area which will be in several banks in Bradfield Park adjacent to the three start areas. We will have a large area on the Kirribilli side of the park allocated to our clothing transport arrangements. Please use the label provided as part of your Event Kit to label the clothing bag and place that bag into the allocated truck at the earliest possible time. There are only very small windows of opportunity to get these trucks away from the start to the finish area - the smoother the operation is at the start, the quicker the sort can be done at the finish ensuring your gear is ready for collection on arrival. There will also be a small information area and water station as well as some sponsor and/or charity activities in the park.

What is the best way for friends and family to travel to the finish area?
Parking and traffic flow is heavily restricted.  Family and friends who are driving from the start area to the finish should avoid travelling through central Sydney due to road closures.  The recommended route to The Sydney Opera House is via the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, then taking the Woolloomooloo exit to Public Parking stations at the Domain or Cook and Phillip Park.

The Domain Car Park - St Marys Road, Sydney, will have an early opening time of 5.30am for the event and customers are allowed to pre-book online to guarantee a space. For more information and to book online click here >>

NB: there will be no access to Macquarie Street from 6.15am to at least 11.30pm. From the two recommended parking stations friends and family can walk to either the Sydney Opera House finish line or the SKINS Recovery Village.

 Transport from finish areas?
Public transport access is easily available from Circular Quay by train, bus and ferry. Contact the Transport Info-line on 131 500 (24 hour service) for further information.  Please note that access over Macquarie Street will be severely restricted between 7am and 11am due to the density of finishers along Macquarie Street with the Cahill Walkway being the only viable cross over. Visit www.131500.info for further transport information.
